1-You need to make sure that the data that you are copying over to the tape, can fit on the tape. If you are backing up 21GB to a 20GB tape, you will get the “error extracting archive” message.

2-When running multiple backups to the same tape, it is very important to always use the same hardware compression setting. If you set one backup job with hardware compression and one without, you will get the “error extracting archive” message.

3-If you are putting in the wrong blowfish password, you will get the “error extracting archive” message.
